Friedrich Kirshner has posted a thought-provoking write-up over at Free Pixel, based on his experiences at the recent Machinima Film Festival in Australia. Eddo Stern spent some time talking about “Outside In vs. Inside Out”, a concept I’ve dealt with before on this blog. It’s good for us to be talking about this. The issue is hard to discuss without volatility, as Friedrich hinted, but I’m gonna give it a try.

In yesterday’s post, I mistakenly said the OMFF SecondLife cocktail party was this Saturday. In fact, it is NEXT Saturday, March 24th. Time is 8:00pm GMT (4:00pm Eastern, 1:00pm Pacific). So solly, so solly.

In case you missed it last week, this Shattered Keyboard article tackles a very interesting subject: the psychology of suspense and the role of conditioning in our experience of cinema. Really good, thought-provoking read. SK is one of the more active machinima-related bloggers right now, and that’s a good thing because he’s got some very interesting things to say.

I also like the “info-barf” posts he does every once and awhile. The spray of bullets approach is good for those little tidbits which don’t warrant their own post but are worth mentioning. I think I’ll do one of those as my next, though I’ll need to come up with a new name for it so as not to commit trademark infringement. Any suggestions?

I am happy to announce a new web service for the machinima community. It is called MachiniFeed, and features a blended RSS feed of machinima blogs and news sites. The site aggregates feeds from several dozen different sites and blogs and blends them into one convenient RSS 2.0 (or optionally, RDF/RSS 1.0) feed.
