<description>Steadicam is remarkable and takes a skilled cameraman (+ good assistance) to operate at a high skill level. I've worked as an actor for several films that had fairly long steadicam, so I got to see the operation close up. On "Scannercop" we had a long steadicam shot that took about an hour to set up and the camera operator grabbed it in about 2 takes; believe me it was pretty complicated as it involved going from the outside to the inside of a building with people moving beside and in front of the camera. It really allows for a lot of freedom in shooting a scene. Also makes it easier to act since the steadicam allows you to move freely within a scene.

A good clip. Thanks for the post.
