PS I don't seem to get updates at Free Pixel, so I didn't realize the debate and comments had continued there. I've update my comments today. I hope others will read and respond to Michael's excellent post on "what makes a machinima film good"? I think the debate is a good one and I think represents some of the current problems/solutions to contemporary machinima filmmaking.

Great collection of links, Phil. I love it when you do this. Please put these together more often. I think I'll do the same for the machiniplex blog.

I like the Gman story film, too, despite the tech limitations. You know, IClone is being being overshadowed by Moviestorm quite a bit recently, but they've got some great new stuff coming in the new year. IClone 3.0 + new Crazy Talk. I was reading an article about IClone hooking up with a new, cheap mo-cap program coming out next year that sounds amazing. Where's that link? ah..here:

Animazoo is the name of the company.

The advantage IClone has is that it's been in development longer than Moviestorm. I dont' think it's as easy to use as MS, but it's still quite a useful and interesting program for the machinima filmmaker. With the coming upgrades it will be even better.

Re: mPATHx - seems like an awful lot of hype and time in development for what is basically a rackmount switching power supply/PDU, but maybe my EE background just makes me cynical.
