Regarding the contest, is three weeks too little time?
A friend mentioned to me that the deadline (March 29) for the machinima contest I announced yesterday might be a bit rushed.
Whether or not you’re planning on entering, please let me know what you think about this. I don’t mind pushing back the deadline… but if I’m going to, I want to do that good and early for maximum benefit.
So what do you think?

I must admit that my first impression was how great idea it is but why in hell you think something decent can be done in two - three weeks.
It can be done, of course, but quality will suffer.
Plus, we are all constantly in some other projects; maybe you can give time - week or two more - to people to finish other work.
I don’t know, I will probably enter what ever you decide, but it will be much more comfortable with week or two more - more authors will enter with more quality stuff. At the end, this is not some minor commercial for new line of condoms - it is our only podcast, very important one, and it must be done properly.
Quick deadline feels less serious than subject deserve it.

For me, March is always the busiest time of the year. If I were entering, I’d appreciate more time. Perhaps April 3 or April 10? That way people would have a weekend before it’s due to polish, ETC.

I have to agree with Tom and Krad; there needs to be more time for people to work on their entries. I’d recommend another month. Perhaps you could extend the contest to April 28?

Right after reading the original post, I started brainstorming ideas. Later, I realized that I’d have to quit my job or severely neglect my girlfriend if I wanted to finish a project in time.
