ZS Dissection Lab #4 - Brooklyn Born Psychologist

Here we examine a scene transition from Male Restroom Etiquette as an example of using extra details to reward your more attentive viewers.

Intro music is "Impulse" by Processor, from their album "Are You For Real?", available at Magnatune.com

Excellent dissection, Overman. Helpful in understanding how to create the effects and also the underlying idea behind them. I very much appreciate your comments about rewarding the observant viewer. Nice touch. Thank you!

It’s a reward for sure, but it’s even more. Some of these subtle details can enhance the experience of the movie on the fly.

Viewers who are tuned into the subject matter will get a subconscious or subliminal prod to bring them more under the spell.

Fans who watch the movie many times will have new things to experience.

The viewers who are also filmmakers (i.e. those watching with a critical mind) will spot these details and just think they are plain cool!

Then, you get the nerds who just love collecting Easter Eggs :)

So true, Russell.

Thank you and Ricky both for your comments and support!
