ZS Dissection Lab #7 - Blueprint Descent

Filed under: Animation, Film, HowTo, Machinima — Overman @ 8:44 am

This breakdown of a scene from Bodysnatchers covers some frame-by-frame processing techniques as we have the camera dive into a 2d image.

Intro music is “Impulse” by Processor, from their album “Are You For Real?”, available at Magnatune.com

You can see the ongoing ZS Dissect Lab series online in this Vimeo album or in this YouTube playlist.

See you at the Conference on Sunday!

  1. There was so much to see in that film, these dissections are really useful. I haven’t got my head around batch image processing , but this seems like a very cunning application for that method and encourages me to look again.

  2. Very helpful dissection, Overman. Not only does it make this rather complex shot easier to understand, but I have a better appreciation of Bodysnatchers. Thanks!

  3. You know, this idea of batch-processing could make it possible to do a “A Scanner Darkly”-type faux rotoscope movie. . . rock on. :-P
