UPDATE: The post I linked to below has been deleted, explanations here and here. But it does still appear that a festival is on, with the location not being etched in stone.
Just caught word of this over on the Machinima Film Festival blog, Eyebeam have confirmed that they will host a U.S. machinima festival in 2009, presumably around that first week of November!
There was a lot of speculation after taking 2007 off (not really off, just not in the U.S.) that maybe AMAS were moving toward alternating things to every other year. I am so excited to hear of this event, and to hear of it this early!
Bravo, AMAS!

Dude! So sorry I deleted the post you're linking to. But I'm glad there's enthusiasm for the fest, and rest assured, the organizing committee is gung ho for MFF09!
In the old days, we'd hang those old "sky is falling" guys, right from a tree in their front yards, yessum.
Ouch! Thinking before typing, that's my new motto!
awesomeee, is it too early to plan for this yet? my local airport finally decided (literally right after the last fest) to start having direct flights to NYC. looking forward to it again.
lol, don't sweat it Lars. Ricky and I are all too familiar with the taste of shoe when it comes to mistaken announcements. (REF: Montreal Expo)
