On February 28, 2009, the very first annual MaMachinima International Festival (MMIF) will be held in Second Life and in RL, Amsterdam. It is a celebration of International Machinima, non-commercial, to promote the pure ART of Machinima. For information and participation , send a mail to info@mamachinima.eu.
The event is being organized by Chantal Harvey, and all engines and platforms are welcomed. I'm not sure if the program is full yet or not, but there is already a nice group of participating filmmakers. Chantal is a bit of a pioneer of virtual+realworld event tie-ins, so I imagine the event will be quite interesting to attend. Here's a promo video she put together for the event.
