New Film: Blast Supper

This mock trailer (for a film that will not be made) was created as an entry in Mefune Akira's Trailer Competition. The competition rules, while fairly open and loose, included one fun and unique requirement: a list of five seemingly random lines of dialogue that must be included in the trailer.

More info about the competition, including links to the other entries, can be found here:

My entry was made with Moviestorm, augmented with some compositing tricks, and it features an original music score. I hope its silliness and absurdity brings you half as many laughs as I received while making it.

This is the standard "All Audiences" version of the trailer. There is also a "red band" version of the trailer (uncensored), I'll include a link to that once it's available.

Downloadables in QuickTime and DivX of both the standard and red band versions are available at:

LMFAO... it gets funnier every time I watch it!

I also have to comment on the animation. This is one of the smoothest and natural-looking Moviestorm movies I can think of.

Great work, Phil. Loved the voice acting in particular. Lisa was sitting next to me and too offense at the Stevie Wonder joke ("best movie I've ever seen"). I said, "great!". I'll check out the red band version.

Wow, she took offense, really? The idea there was that it was Stevie Wonder (who has a healthy sense of humor about his own blindness) was the one making the joke there, and/or that only someone who can't see the movie would think it's any good. (Except Uwe Boll, of course.) So either way, the would-be movie is the butt of the joke, not Stevie. I wonder if others took it that way?

Ach, don't sweat it. She was halfway joking and only caught a glimpse of the whole film. And you are right about SW having a great sense of humor about himself. Besides, I like that you have such pointed humor in the film. Great voice for Samuel Jackson, Phil. In fact, all of them really come through nicely. Pace of the film is dang good. Lovely.

I finally found some time to see what is new at my favorite authors production.
Good stuff, Phil. Like I said many time, you really have very cinematic sense for humor.
Buster Keaton of Machinima. No kidding.

LMAO. "An instant classic" - Uwe Boll. I just recently saw "Visiting Uwe" so that bit tickled my funny bone quite a bit. Fantastic work all-around and I didn't find it offensive in the least. Good luck in the contest!

This was absolutely terrific, Phil! I can't believe you did all of the voices!
