I am very happy to report that Sweet Nothingness (made with ZenCub3d) is an Official Selection at the Animatu Festival this year. This is the first time I've entered that event in Portugal; for whatever reason I'd talked myself into thinking a DVD submission process would be a big pain in the butt. It wasn't, thanks in large part to the tools Sony provides between Vegas and DVD Architect. I was excited to see my work selected alongside that of Pooky Amsterdam/Russell Boyd, as well as Claus-Dieter Schulz - who if my memory is correct is a former winner of the machinima prize at Animatu.
I'm also pleased to tell you that both Blast Supper and Intervention are nominees for this year's Bitfilm Festival! Claus-Dieter's Liberty City is a nominee over there too, small world! There are some wonderful selections there this year by some really great filmmakers, competition will be extremely stiff. I don't believe in direct vote solicitation, even in a festival where doing so is basically a requirement for winning, it just feels icky to me. But I do want to strongly encourage you to head over to Bitfilm, register for a free Bitfilm Club account, and cast your vote/rating for the films you feel strongly about. All of us who have entered will greatly appreciate your support.

Congrats. If I may just add that after Schulz there was one more Machinima winner you know very well.
Who, you wonder.
Me.
With Cockoo clock circus movie.
Very nice people down there, btw.
:)
huge congrats and good luck!
Tnx for pointing to my movies as well. Your memory is working perfect. I was a winner
at Animatu the year before Tom did. His movie was in the contest the year I received my one at the official ceremony. I fully agree with him, they are very nice people and the festival is great. I've spent a great time there and for sure will attend the festival again some day even if I'm not winning.
and Claus!
A great honor & thrill to be included and look forward to our community growing and inspiring more and more!
Wonderful Phil & congratulations to everyone else who made animatu, and the Bitfilm festival.
Congratulation Phil and Russell! Woot!
Congratulations!
Seriously, turn the clones off.
Congrats!
Congrats, Phil! Good luck!
Congrats, Phil! You're on a festival streak!
Congrats Phil and Claus, and pleased to be in there too.
And yep, the festival voting and selection process has already been blogged about at length. Enough to say that any awareness raising of machinima as a valid, creative and entertaining filmmaking method is good for all of us, no matter who wins or are nominated.
you deserve all of it, my brotha-from-anotha-motha!
Major Props to you Phil Dude! I already voted for both your films and wish you the best of luck!
Great news!! Good luck.
