Lainy Voom’s “The Stolen Child”

Filed under: Machinima — Overman @ 10:09 am

Simply exquisite. Lainy does it again.

She says this is the first in a series of films inspired by classic poetry. I can’t wait to see more.

The finale continues

Filed under: Audio, Comedy, Machinima — Overman @ 10:45 am

Part 3 of 4 of the overcast grand finale is now available:

http://theovercast.com/overcast-053/

Just some of the features in this one…

  • Holy cow, Sisch can sing! Hear her dulcet tones over a track by fellow director, Nukester.
  • A hilarious haiku tribute by Sam “Zuckerman” Midwood.
  • Remember back on March 20 when I announced this finale and invited people to send in “random answers to random questions” and I’d construct a faux interview from that? I put all four takers in a make-believe “room” and put together a crazy group interview. I don’t want to spoil anything, but I will say that one of them ends up killing me. Like, with a gun.

By the way, I don’t think I announced part 2 last week, did you miss it? It’s available here:

Doomiestorm

Filed under: Machinima — Overman @ 6:18 am

An homage to the first game that let me record / playback demos… and changed my life as a result. Production time: one day. Sound effects and music mercilessly pilfered from the original game; they were created by the inimitable Bobby Prince.

One of the winners of the Moviestorm “Keep It Snappy” 30-second Film Competition, May 2009. (Parking was also a winner!) See the full list of contest winners by clicking here.

Volant

Sometimes life throws you little gifts along the way. Like discovering that Byron Mallett (Mystfit) has started putting his work up on Vimeo. Here’s his short film made in Mirror’s Edge which shows off the cinematography possibilities in that game beautifully.

You may remember Mystfit from his Half-Life 2 film, Daydream, another beaut which is now on Vimeo as well.
