Quake2 Done Quick2

Quake2 Done Quick2

A recam of a series of speed runs through the single-player missions of id Software's Quake2, in the mind-blowing time of 21 minutes, 6 seconds.

This high-speed voyage through the single-player missions of Quake2 is loaded with exciting action, narrow escapes, and absolutely amazing maneuvers. The phrase "every trick in the book" could not be more apt. Speed-runners from around the globe contributed their best runs to bring together this journey through the game, from start to finish. Their mission? Accomplish the major objectives using any means necessary (except for unfettered "bunny-hopping"), and get the hell out of there... as fast as possible. It's something that has to be seen to be believed. This series of recams gives an extra cinematic feel to some highly entertaining action.

Quake2 done Quick2 is just one endeavor in what became a legendary tradition in the world of id Software games. Visit the Speed Demos Archive, and you will find demos and even full movie productions of the best runs through a number of popular first-person shooters.

  1. This video obvious is fake. You cant jump againest walls like this person did. And rocket lanchers do not blasted you up in the air in quake 2. In quake 3 it does, but not quake 2

  2. Rocket launchers most absolutely DID (and DO) blast you up in the air in Quake 2. In fact, rocket jumping was quite prominent behavior in Quake 2, well before Quake3Arena was ever released. In fact, if I’m not mistaken, the physics which allowed rocket jumping were actually toned DOWN a bit in Q3A compared to Quake2.

I was never as good at taking advantage of the physics as these players, but I know the demos used to make the video are legitimate unaltered gameplay demos made by the Quake done Quick speed-running team.

The bouncing off the walls, by the way, took place during Quad rocket blasts / jumps. If you think that doesn’t generate enough force to bounce you off walls, then you’ve never fired a rocket with Quad in Quake 2.
