Ride the Rocket

Ride the Rocket

As you may or may not know, the Quake games by id Software are played in a virtual 3D environment from a first-person perspective (looking through the eyes of your manipulable player character). This "world" of Quake has it's own laws of physics and gravity, which can differ greatly from Newton's laws, either for gameplay purposes or because of a quirk in programming code. In the real-world tradition of Evel Knieval, "Jump Gods" enjoy pushing the envelope of what is thought to be possible given those physics.

Most of the stunt challenges involve reaching areas of the map that are inaccessible by conventional means - or reaching an accessible area by an unconventional route. The feats these players perform can be enjoyable to watch, whether you were an avid Quake2 player or not.
